one of my pages of rough sketchs for idea of rabbit

I thought I would show how I begin my ideas for what I want to create.
I start with many very rough sketches of  the animal I am making.sketching the anatomy what I want it to look like sketchbook pages fill with drawing and body parts.even drawing onto the design  ears up or down to see which way I prefer them to be.
Then I will do a better drawing or colour picture to work from. After this I will get to dissecting the idea into pattern pieces and then a prototype is made to see if any alteration are needed.

Here is Thumper not such he is sticking with that name yet.My sons pick the name because of his expression .
He is 10in(26cm)tall standing.
The design and pattern took me a couple of weeks to get to how I want him to look. he is hand stitch and is made of brown fake fur and the white fur as grey fleck.glass black eyes he has real suede pads with fleece backing and noteback card  in his feet.
He as cotter pin head and  nut and bolt
joints. his head leans to one side as if he is listening out for something. but can look straight on ears have brown velvet inside, also as a tag in his left leg.He will be for sale soon along with some other creations.

Hopeful in a few days I can show some photos of complete teddy bears and other creations. on here and start selling them.

Monday 12 September 2011

I've just found these two golfer teddy bear ornaments what I pick up on some holiday trip years ago. while unpacking more boxes.
I was hoping to show some of my creations but they are all in different stages from the pattern making to waiting to be sewn up or some waiting there final attire etc.plus family life took over.
I hope to be able to knuckle down this week.
To night I'm hoping to design a cardigan pattern or sweater for a 9in(23cm) teddy bear I've been working on.

Found teddy bear material when unpacking.

Decided to open a big box of material stashed away  for six years or more because we have been moving from one house to another never got round to looking inside it.
Now we are settle in a very lovely village and  I am back making teddy bears and other critters (which is like starting  from scratch).I found this lovely material with teddy bears on remembering rightly I think it is curtain material  as it was in a box of remnants outside a curtain stall in a inside market.I am now racking my brain to come up with something to use it for.I must stop procrastinating I am the  worlds worsted for doing that. And finished the things I have started.

Chickens crossing the road

I thought you might enjoyed this pair of chickens  crossing the road.
I was taking a morning walk through the village where we have moved too. I always carry my  point and click camera just in case I see anything interesting  I happen to see a group of chicken waiting to cross the road I managed to catch these two who look quite comical. The village where we have moved to is famed for its ducks which live all around the brook and village green there is a sign warning traffic of ducks crossing.I've even seen a sign in the next village warning of toads crossing.

Taking the plunge and entering the Blog World.

A big hello to anyone who reads my blog & welcome to my new blog.

I finally took the plunge and entered the blog world. .Thanks to the encouragement of my Twins Sons to get back in to bear making.
I've been pretty busy here lately making and creating new designs and patterns,I do them by hand sewing and its took longer than expected.  one small teddy bear has turned out complete different to what I was attempting.
We have just moved house this last few months  thinks are quite hectic here fitting in creating and sorting the house as been very slow going.
